Questions – Answers
The GuitarScaler is a system that allows you to immediately see which notes to play on the guitar neck. Simply place your fingers where a circle is drawn to be sure to play the right notes in the right key.
To choose the key, nothing could be simpler, slide the slider until it appears in the small square window. Do you want to play the notes of a C scale? Slide the slider to the letter C. Do you want to switch to A#? Slide it again to A#.
Do you want to switch to major or minor scales? Turn the slider from one side to the other and you get the mode you want. What could be simpler?
The GuitarScaler uses exactly the same markers as on a guitar opposite the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th frets, etc.
It simply sits on the table in front of you or on your knee while you play.
It’s extremely simple.
When the slider slides into the case, the key markers scroll in the small square window. If you choose to play in the key of A minor, you must select “Am” in this window. The keys are defined according to the Anglo-Saxon nomenclature:
A = A Major |
Am = A minor |
Then, just look in the large window to see which notes correspond to this scale. To play in tune, play the corresponding notes.
Use the small fret markers at the 3rd, 5th, 7th, 9th, 12th frets, etc. These are the same markers you find on your guitar.
To know whether to play an open string or not, look to see if a note appears in the narrow window (to the left of the large window).
If a note appears on a string, it means that this string can be played open. The note of the open string therefore belongs to the selected scale.
If there is no note represented, it means that this string should not be played open.
If you want to change mode, simply return the scale to the case.
The GuitarScaler consists of a case and a multi-scale ruler. On the multi-scale ruler, three scales are represented by three different colors.
The pentatonic scale (5 notes per scale) is represented by the black notes.
The blues scale (6 notes per scale) is represented by the blue notes added to the black notes
The heptatonic scale (7 notes per scale) is represented by the red notes added to the black notes
The Major and Minor modes of these scales are found on the front and back of the rulers.
The three additional rulers are specific to each scale separately. So there is a ruler specific to the pentatonic scale, a ruler specific to the heptatonic scale, and a ruler specific to the blues scale. These three additional rulers offer a better reading of the scales.
It depends on your goals. If you are determined to give yourself the best means to reach a good level on the guitar, these three additional rulers will offer you excellent support to learn your scales with ease.
Indeed, each additional ruler being specific to a single scale, the reading comfort is optimal. In addition, the heptatonic and blues rulers each take up the pentatonic base in black. You will therefore have before your eyes the perfect diagrams to progress towards these higher scales.
If your goal is to have a versatile, easy-to-use and always available memory aid, the GuitarScaler without the rulers will offer you the best way to be able to refer to your scales in the blink of an eye without having to rummage for hours to find the detail to check. You can also use it to quickly see which notes to add to the basic pentatonic scale to obtain the blues scale or the heptatonic scale.
From the complete beginner guitarist to the guitar teacher, including the advanced amateur and the self-taught guitarist. The GuitarScaler is both an excellent teaching tool for learning scales and a great memory aid that can be referred to in the slightest doubt.
It is therefore absolutely not necessary to know anything about the guitar, music theory or music theory to be able to take full advantage of it.
The GuitarScaler is probably the first accessory to have with your guitar.
The usual methods such as books, CDs, applications or videos that can be found in music libraries or on the internet, present the scales with static diagrams.
In general, one diagram per key and per mode. This effectively allows you to know a scale, plan by plan. Then, you have to move on to the next diagram, then to the next key, then to the next mode…
What is missing in this way of learning is learning the overall functioning of the scales, that is to say the mechanism that governs these scales. When you understand how they work, you are able to move logically from one mode to another with ease. You can do your own experiments.
The GuitarScaler is the only learning system that exposes the dynamic functioning of the scales in a fun way.
The method covers 14 different styles, including rock, blues, jazz, reggae, and more.
You’ll be able to improvise in most styles after completing the course.
If you are a complete beginner or have little experience, you will certainly need a little help, that’s normal. The guitar is a lady who does not give herself away so easily 🙂
That is why the GuitarScaler comes with a user manual. It is a bit like a quick start manual.
And above all, there is a very useful theoretical and practical video training to understand the mechanics of scales on the guitar. These courses highlight the interest of the GuitarScaler to master the relationships between tones, modes and fundamental notes.
After this training, you will be able to juggle from one scale to another from one end of the guitar neck to the other and switch from major to minor mode as you wish.
Why not, it can happen. Suddenly, you’ll prefer playing the tambourine? You have 30 days to return the GuitarScaler (in perfect condition of course) and you will be fully refunded.
You will even keep the ebook and the free lessons so that we remain good friends.
You have the security of making the right choice and we are certain of your satisfaction.
Everyone wins 🙂
No, there is no specific model for left-handed people, but it’s a mental exercise to take on and then you get used to it very quickly. Like when you’re facing a guitar teacher. Whether they’re left-handed or right-handed, you adapt very quickly 😊
There is no specific version for bass: our bassist friends also use the GuitarScaler®, but they only deal with the 4 lower strings! 🤘🏼
